Due to constraints imposed by the various quarantines that are being implemented in different States, the Ride Route 20 itinerary is being shifted to a route that begins in the UK, passes through France, across the Alps and Northern Italy, down the Adriatic Coast to “The Toe” (Reggio Calabria) and then returns up the Mediterranean Coast into France via Provence and then up through the Massif Central to Paris and on to the UK. The distance will be similar to the original Ride Route 20 (3,365 miles).
This is disappointing for the entire team, but is the right decision given health and safety issues and local regulations in each State. The new ride will easily be as challenging and, who knows, perhaps Route 20 will reappear in 2021!
